Getting your hair and makeup professionally done ensures that you are camera ready.
Doing your own makeup is great, but professional makeup artists know exactly how to apply makeup specifically for photos. Sometimes you need to wear extra makeup for it to show up in photos and the professionals know how to do that! They’ll also know how to apply makeup for the lighting that we’ll be in. Makeup looks different on camera than it does in person. Even if you don’t wear a lot of makeup in your day-to-day life, getting your makeup professionally done will even out your skintone which makes your photos more cohesive and gives you a flawless look. Getting your hair professionally done also ensures that those curls will stay the longest possible in the Michigan summer heat or through a windy session.
2. It’s one less thing that you have to worry about.
Trying to do your own hair and makeup the day of your session can be so stressful. If you’re trying to do something specific and it isn’t going well, it can be frustrating and cause you to not be in the best mood. It can also be hard to plan out how much time you’ll actually need to get ready which can make you run late, whereas if you get your hair and makeup done it will be built into your session timeline for you. If you leave everything to the professionals, you won’t have to worry about doing everything yourself and it relieves a lot of stress!

You will feel SO great about yourself which will transfer over into confidence during your photos! You’ll feel more comfortable because you’ll be loving how you look/feel! It’ll be good vibes all around.

If you don’t wear a lot of makeup in general and you’re thinking of getting your hair and makeup done but you’re worried that you won’t look like yourself or your makeup will be cakey, don’t stress! Makeup artists can do super natural, simple looks that will allow you to still look like yourself but just elevate your natural look. I always recommend having some inspiration photos to show them and to show them what you look like day-to-day. We all want you to still look like yourself!
